Bounce
Artist/Band:
Bon Jovi
Album release date:
2002
Album producers:
Luke Ebbin, Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, Desmond
Album distributor:
Universal Music & Video
Album description:
Recorded at Sanctuary Sound II, New Jersey. "Misunderstood" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. While Jon Bon Jovi may not have much in common with the modern-day cowboys he writes of in his better-known songs, he and the band that bears his name are clearly the Comeback Kids. The mid-to-late-'90s found the band releasing lackluster fare, while 2002's BOUNCE brought Bon Jovi out of their slump. The album opens with pop metal bombast of a kind not heard since 1992's KEEP THE FAITH, as the band acknowledges the events of September 11th in "Undivided" and "Everyday." The crunchy, razor-sharp guitar playing and production on BOUNCE shines considerable light on Richie Sambora, who's playing gives any of today's newbie axemen a run for their money (especially on "Hook Me Up."). Building on that contemporary edge are collaborations with Andreas Carlsson (N Sync, Celion Dion) and longtime contributor Desmond Child. "Joey" is quintessential Bon Jovi storytelling, while "All About Loving You" and "Right Side Of Wrong" weigh in as requisite rock ballads. "...Bounce is the sound of a group who know what they're good at and why..." Q Magazine. Lyrics and an Acoustic Mp3 Download [Spanish Page]

Undivided lyrics

That was my brother lost in the rubble
That was my sister lost in the crush
That was our mothers, those were our children
That was our fathers, that was each one of us
A million prayers to God above
A million tears make an ocean of

[Chorus:]
One for love
One for truth
One for me, one for you

I found spirit, they couldn't ruin it
I found courage in the smoke and dust

Everyday lyrics

I used to be the kind of guy
Who'd never let you look inside
I'd smile when I was crying
I had nothing but a life to loose
Thought I had a lot to proof
In my life, there's no denying

Goodbye to all my yesterdays
Goodbye, so long, I'm on my way

I've had enough of cryin'
Bleedin', sweatin', dyin'
Hear me when I say
Gonna live my life everyday
I'm gonna touch the sky

The Distance lyrics

There's a train out in the distance, destination still unknown
Far away where no one's waiting, so far from home, so far from home

There's a rose outside your window, the first snow is falling down
Like that lonesome whistle blowing
I keep on going, keep on going...

[Chorus:]
Close your eyes and see my blue skies breaking through these dark clouds
You are the light

Joey lyrics

Joey Keys was from my neighborhood
Some would say that he was bad and Joe thought that was good
Joey got the name "Keys" picking locks
He never really robbed no one; it sure amused the cops
Joey's parents owned a restaurant
After closing time they'd give us almost anything we'd want
I never cared that Joey Keys was slow

Though he couldn't read or write too well but we'd talk all night long.

Misunderstood lyrics

Should I Could I
Have said the wrong things right a thousand times
If I could just rewind, I see it in my mind
If I could turn back time, you'd still be mine

You cried, I died
I should have shut my mouth, things headed south
As the words slipped off my tongue, they sounded dumb
If this old heart could talk, it'd say you're the one
I'm wasting time when I think about it

[Chorus:]

All About Loving You lyrics

Looking at the pages of my life
Faded memories of me and you
Mistakes you know I've made a few
I took some shots and fell from time to time
Baby, you were there to pull me through
We've been around the block a time or two
I'm gonna lay it on the line
Ask me how we've come this far
The answer's written in my eyes

[Chorus:]
Every time I look at you, baby, I see something new

Hook Me Up lyrics

Hello, is there anybody out there
I'm alone hanging by a thread
Everywhere around the world
Everybody's waiting for someday
Calling out around the world
Maybe someday might be tonight

[Chorus:]
Hook me up
I'm reaching out for you, come on
Hook me up
I know you can do it, come on, take me on

Are you there
Tell me what you're feeling.
Your fears and all your wildest dreams

Right Side of Wrong lyrics

A friend of a friend needs a favor
No questions asked, there's not much more to say

Me and the wife, we need the money
We've got four kids all hungry, one on the way
Slip these sweat socks in your shirt and pray they think your packin'
Be sure to keep your head down, don't look 'em in the eye
And don't get fancy, Ricky, we ain't Jimmy Cagney

Love Me Back to Life lyrics

This world don't give you nothing it can't take away
Everybody holding on to something
Nobody wants to fade away

No forgiveness on the streets of this town
I left my patience at a traffic light
There's no denying that I almost lost it
Threw in the towel, too tired to fight

Tonight I need you
More than yesterday
Tonight I need you

[Chorus:]
Take me, touch me, hold me like you mean it

You Had Me From Hello lyrics

At the mirror you fix your hair and put your makeup on
You're insecure about what clothes to wear
I can't see nothing wrong

To me you look so beautiful when you can't make up your mind
It's half past eight, it's getting late
It's OK, take your time

Standing here my hands in my pockets
Like I have a thousand times
Thinking back it took one breath
One word to change my life

[Chorus:]

Bounce lyrics

I been knocked down so many times
Counted out 6, 7, 8, 9
Written off like some bad deal
If you're breathing you know how it feels
Call it karma, call it luck
Me, I just don't give a

[Chorus:]
Bounce, Bounce Nothing's gonna keep me down
Bounce, Bounce Stand up, shout it out
Bounce, Bounce I play hard, I play to win
Count me out, count me in
I'll be bouncing back again

Open All Night lyrics

I saw you coming from a mile away
Trying to hide behind that pretty face
Bet my last dollar baby you been bruised
Poor little heart all black 'n' blue

Last thing you need's another pickup line
You must have heard them all a thousand times
God only knows what you been through
Believe me I been broken too

It aches, it breaks, it takes your breath away
I've been around that block a time or two

Postcards From The Wasteland lyrics

Thunder cracks, the sky is crying
On her back she’s pushing trying
He holds her hand and kneels beside her bed
Break the silence baby screaming
In slow motion she ain’t dreaming she closed her eyes looked
Up to God and says
Should I cry a little more
Should I try a little more
I’d pay the cost and laugh it off
I’d do it all a thousand times again
No Regrets
Livings hard and dying’s easy

No Regrets lyrics

She counts the days away and waits for Valentines
She says every other day is just a waste of time, you know
She don't believe in miracles or make believe
If you were blind you still could see
That she believes in me
It feels like I found a pocket full of gold
I'm Lucky, baby, so Lucky, baby
Lucky to be with you today, Lucky to be the one to say
I'm Lucky, baby, so Lucky, baby

Rockin' In The Free World lyrics

There's colors on the street
Red, white and blue
People shufflin' their feet
People sleepin' in their shoes
But there's a warming sign on the road ahead
There's lot of people sayin' we'd better off dead
Don't feel like Satan, but I am to them
So I try to forget it, any way I can.

Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world

Fields Of Fire lyrics

There's no-one watching over me tonight and I'm afraid to turn out the lights,
If I close my eyes, it'll all go away and I don't wanna see it end this way.

There was a time when truth and trust meant so much more to each of us
And all the dreams that once we had have seen the sun and left us feeling bad

Now the changing of the guard has left us feeling so damn hard

I Thank You lyrics

You didn't have to love me, like you did
But you didn't, but you did
And I thank you
You didn't have to squeeze me, like you did
But you didn't, but you did, and I thank you

If you took your love to someone else
I know what I meant to be the loving dare
You made me feel like I've never felt
Your kiss is so good, I got the holler for help

You didn't have to squeeze me, like you did
