The Girl From Ipanema lyrics
Artist/Band:
Gilberto Astrud
Album:
Astrud Gilbertos Finest Hour Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah
When she walks, she's like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes, each one she passes goes - ooh
(Ooh) But I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her
Yes I would give my heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at me
Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, I smile - but she doesn't see (doesn't see)
(She just doesn't see, she never sees me,...)

So wrong it's embarrassing.
Should be:
How can HE tell her he loves her? Etc.
the original was done by frank sinatra so this IS the right version, it was him singing about her not some woman singing it
No, the original is not by Frank Sinatra, that was just a cover. The title clearly says "gilberto astrud" and is referring to the original by Astrud Gilberto, Stan Getz, and Joao Gilberto.
And it is a woman singing the song. Listen to the original.
Are you dense? This, and every other famous bossa nova from the fifties, was by Carlos Jobim.
Jobim was the songwriter. Getz and gilberto were the artists that released it. I guess its you who are dense, or just being facetious.
wow...
Frink Sinatra is not the original singer of the song.Obviously it's Gilberto Astrud.Do your research before you post and embarasses yourself here.lol
