A Word (Or Two) About Richard
Herr Kruspe is a bit of an enigma, isn't he? On the surface of it he appears to be an individual who has achieved much success in his life (with Rammstein and his daughter, as two examples). And yet, if we scratch a little deeper, look a bit more closely into those crystalline eyes of his, we may glimpse a different scenario.
Although I have not (yet) looked into his side project, Emigrate (this isn't to say that I never will; just haven't done so right now), it appears to me as though he put this project together (at least partially) so that he could be the center of attention. Does Richard harbor a secret resentment, or sense of inferiority, toward Till? Does he compete with Till in his own mind, and feel as though he is always coming in second place? Does he regard Till more as a rival than a simple business partner (which he essentially is)? Is Richard hiding his fears and/or insecurities behind a well-controlled mask of super-egotism?
Richard, we love you. We recognize your great talent, your ability to write catchy music that captivates our minds and imaginations, your thought-out contributions to the group. And although there is (realistically) no replacing Till Lindemann as the band's frontman, there certainly can be no replacing you, either, when it comes to the whole concept of Rammstein. Believe me, everybody knows that.
Till is the steering wheel of the car we are all packed into... but Richard, you are the engine. And if one of you should go missing, guess what - we will be going nowhere.
Hope these words help, somehow.
