...Still thinking about the recent leaks of the new single, and wondering how it's all going to play out. I don't care what I hear or read, I still think it's going to turn out OK. Just have to wait and see on it, though.
This incident led me to thinking, about how fame is in general. Bands seem to be sandwiched between the constant demands of fans on one end, and the constant pressures of their management on the other. Factor in their personal relationships, and things can become pretty complicated. It requires a delicate balancing act - but still, it seems like no matter what they do, someone always feels like they are being shortchanged, like they are not getting enough from them. It must be a lot of pressure, at times - and privacy is always short in supply but that is just part of the deal.
Yet, most people don't think (or care) about the downside of being a famous icon. We only see the glamour - the cars, the nice homes, the women that are always around - and we don't think about how hard they have to work to have these things, the things that they have to give up. Celebrity life is deceptive; it looks like it is one thing, but in actuality it isn't quite what it looks like. While it is true that fans' support keep these people in business, it is equally true that they, too, are people who have needs, and they have to do a lot for their success. In the future I just hope that, whenever something breaks (good or bad), we are able to better keep these things in mind.
Oh, and one more thing: With this band, it seems to me that, whenever something goes right, Rammstein gets the credit. But whenever something goes wrong, the management gets the blame. I wonder why that is?? Management is just doing a job.
That's all for now.
We'll see how this whole thing plays out, hopefully it will be cleared up soon ;).
