Rammstein and White Culture
If an African American listens to music from Africa, everyone thinks that is good. If a Japanese-American is into a group from Japan (Dir En Grey, for example), people can accept that with no problem. Hispanic-Americans listen to Spanish/Portuguese music all the time, and it is barely noticed anymore. But if a 'Euro-American' listens to a band out of Germany, they are labelled racists or enemies of the state.
I am neither one of these things!!
I have lived around different types of people my whole life. I work with several black men, both American and foreign-born (Tanzania, Kenya, Haiti). My home city is hugely diverse, filled with people who come from all parts of the world. I buy their food in the stores, ride the subways with them and live next door to their families. And I still listen to Rammstein.
I believe that people want to feel connected to something that means something to them; it can be a rock group, a politician, a certain place that they live or any other group or association. Just because Rammstein has a predominantly white audience doesn't mean that they (or the people who listen to them) are racist. It's time that somebody spoke up and pointed this out... and I don't mind if that someone has to be me.

I haven't been listening to Rammstein much, however I totally support your idea about all people being equal, no matter of their origin, and all people having right to have different tastes, in music or in food or in living style, as long as it does not conflict with similar rights of others.
