Rammstein and touring
I am from the United States, and I've never seen this group do a live show. It seems like every country wants them to come and play for them("Come to Bulgaria/Finland/Australia, etc.") The reality of life on the road is, that it's very difficult. I think fans need to remember that they cannot be everywhere at once! So this is what I think they should do...
Every year (preferably in the summer season, because that's the biggest time for live shows), Rammstein should compile a listing of, say 10 to 12 cities that they most want to play in that year. So for example: next summer they play in Berlin, Nimes, Rotterdam, Kiel, Copenhagen and pick a few other cities. Play these places between June and September of one year. Then, the following summer, they could select 10 to 12 different cities to play in -not the same ones as the year before. They could do a kind of 'rotating schedule', where they play different places different years. This might be a solution.
The main reasons why I think this could work for them are the following: 1)They would only be on the road for a few months during the year, giving them time to do other things for the rest of the time; 2)Because demand for their live shows is so high, by rotating/changing where they play year to year, it gives a lot of fans the opportunity to see them; 3)They are less likely to get 'burned out' from road life if they only commit to it for a few months during the year.
Additionally... for those unfortunate souls who may not get to experience them live, cheer up - all is not lost. There are DVDs now; bands make live video recordings so that fans who can't be there get to see what it is like. It isn't as good as the real thing, true; but once upon a time they didn't have DVDs, so we are the lucky ones now!
