The 2008 MTV Video Music Awards took place on September 7, 2008 live from Paramount Pictures Studios. Nominations for a majority of the categories were announced on the MTV program FNMTV after being selected through viewer online voting at MTV.com. Paul McCartney rocks Kiev (Drive My Car)
Thunder and lightning filled the skies yet the true electricity came from the stage as Sir Paul McCartney gave his first ever concert in Kiev on Saturday.
A record 350,000 braved the inclement weather to see the musician. The charity concert, in the former Soviet republic's Independence Square, was the Ukraine's biggest ever.
Amy Winehouse taken to hospital
Amy Winehouse has been taken to hospital after fainting in London yesterday (June 16).
The singer is undergoing tests after passing out at her home, although she is said to have "quickly recovered".
According to a spokesperson, it's unclear what caused her to faint and she may be kept in overnight for observation.

Britney Spears has secretly married her British paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib in Mexico, according to American reports. The troubled star wed during a trip to Mexico on 9 January, Star magazine claims, but the marriage is illegal because Ghalib is already married.
