Michael Jackson... his Legacy Shall Live On

On June 25th 2009 millions of people all over the world suffered a great loss. News flashes on all major television stations and flooded e-mails were manifested from everywhere. Even announcements were heard over the radio stations not only here in America but the entire world. It was as if the earth stood still to see what was going with The King Michael Jackson.

Michael died before he was able to fulfill his dream in becoming the King of Pop once again and to finally let his children see him perform live. It was so odd at how he suddenly passed without a moments notice. No one was prepared to see him leave so soon. However it did not really dawn on me; what he meant to me as a black man and how it did not matter; neither the color of his skin nor the shape of his nose. What really mattered was his heart that ultimately stopped beating. He was in love with his fans as we were with him. He recognized our unconditional love and he thanked us with unwavering words in how much he appreciated our love for him for his talent and moreover as a human being. I just pray that he knows how much he is missed.

There are times that I feel his presence as if his spirit is so strong and vibrant and he does not want us to forget him. It is as if he is still here promoting himself sending a message: “the show must go on.” And I often wonder why I feel that his spirit surrounds me. And then there are times that I find myself communicating with him on a spiritual level. I know that it may seem strange nonetheless, l also feel that I am not the only one that he is in touch with.

“Michael was a leader and not a follower and he believed that he could change the world through his music. And I truly believe that he would have made a major statement if he had lived to go on his final tour. He not only set his goals; he also implemented them."

"Deep in his soul, he had something to substantiate not only to himself but to the entire world.”

“Michael was full of love and he shared it with the world."

Everyone has a purpose in life but only a few know and use their purpose for the purpose that it was giving to them.”

"Sometimes our purpose is hidden from us. At other times, it's clear as daylight. Frequently, we're prevented from grasping hold of it for a variety of reasons. The journey can be lonely and moments of frustration do arise. That's why along the way it helps to have people to lean on, friends to confide in, and trusted advisors to help guide us. Michael knew his purpose and he used it to the best of his ability towards helping people like you, me and so many others. And now it is our time to pass along that same torch that he handed to us. But we too have to discover our purpose and not to be afraid to dream. Because once we accept Michael's torch, we now have to continue on with his dream in making this world a better place."
