Electroclash: Revival

Hailing back to middle 1970s, the Electroclash describes a style of fashion, music, and attitude that fuses New Wave, punk, & electronic dance music. The style has significantly increased its fans in number and propelled to a great attention of clubbers worldwide.

The Electroclash meshes in punk and dance electronics. The name derives from the early 80's electropop bands, who provided the majority of the musical influence. The bands to play Electroclash widely play pianos and drum-machines. The movement emerged in 2000-2002 through Larry Tee's roving, fashion/art/hipster Berliniamsburg, and later at the Mutants club nights, at Club Luxx in New York. Another person to popularize and assert the Electroclash in Europe was DJ Hell, who held night parties in Munich clubs in 2002.

He, presently, works toward its revival in Europe. Some festivals to advertise the style and bring it back to fame including the International Deejay Gigolos, featuring Miss Kitten, Peaches, Ladytron, Suicide, and Robots, are common for European fan-base.
Speaking about the Electroclash I find it essential to mention the Liquid Sky movie. The story follows the early 1980s New York dance/art scene in which space aliens land to feed off of endorphins released during sex or heroin use.

Their hat box-sized spaceship lands on the roof of a loft occupied by two junkies: fashion model Margaret and her girlfriend Adrian. Another junkie, Jimmy (also played by Anne Carlisle) is her rival and enemy. The animosity between the two is vague, but potent. The story is fraudable, as appeared to illustrate the ideal shape of the style, the one imagined by its fans.

Notably, the Electroclash bands have since long been not related to space aliens and future people. They are real, popular and glamorous. They wear metal consumes and acid glasses and use the words neon, silver screen, coke, porno, auto, sex, phone, android, plastic, euro, romantics and robots in their lyrics. They have finally came to glory and rule the world music scene.
